YOUR FIRST VISIT
At Salt Lake City Dental, we want patients to achieve great oral health success. Check out our patient center to find everything you need today. The initial visit also entails a review of your medical history. When you share your medical history, be sure to provide complete, up-to-date information on your health. Inform our office if you have experienced a recent hospitalization or surgery, or have been ill. Also tell us the names, doses, and frequency of any medications you are taking — whether prescription or over-the-counter products — and the name of your physician. Let us know about any changes in your health or medications. This information will help us select the safest and most effective method of treatment for you.

Regular checkups include a thorough cleaning and polishing, and an oral exam by the doctor. During the oral exam, Dr. Palmer will check the health of your mouth, teeth, gums, cheeks, and tongue, and inspect your existing fillings and restorations, because constant pressure from chewing, grinding, or clenching can cause them to wear away, chip, or crack. Regular checkup appointments typically take about 45 minutes. Patients are seen by appointment only. We make every effort to be on time for our patients, and we ask that you extend the same courtesy to us. If you cannot keep an appointment, please notify us at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment time.

Just like our appointment reminders, you can customize how you receive financial reminders through email or voicemail. After you log in to your account profile, you can review and print your financial ledgers without having to call our office.

EXAMINATION
Dr. Palmer will complete a detailed oral examination of your tissues, gums, bone, and teeth. We’ll check for decay, disease, and infection, and conduct an oral cancer screening.
POST-APPOINTMENT FEEDBACK
After your appointment, we’ll send you a link to an online survey where you can let us know how we’re doing (and what could use improvement).
